This is the right place to sell your Truck!
Why should I sell my truck on ToolTrucks.com?

We get results!

1.  Tool people know we are here:  we are at the top of a Google Search for "tool trucks", "used tool trucks" and other related keywords, and you can be sure your truck will be seen by the most interested and informed buyers in the tool business and related industries.

2.  We care: about your sale amount.  We want you to sell your truck for its fair market value.  We know truck values, we see them every day.

3.  We care:  about your morale and good spirits while waiting to sell it - free advice, encouragement, sales tips.

4.  We care:  about how your listing looks.  We can help you write the description, we will help with photo order, and also will make photos look better if necessary where we can by brightening or darkening them, cropping them, etc.

We have motivated buyers here, looking for the right specialty vehicle for their business, and they have very specific needs.  When you get out into the more general websites you get a more diverse customer mix who don't place as high a value on the special equipment of a Tool Truck.  A person who wants to convert your truck into a camper is not interested in paying for a specialty interior with shelving.

We will help you every step of the way.  Our only focus is helping you sell your Tool Truck, Trailer, or Equipment Truck.  You will get the true market value for it here!

Our listing charge is a fraction of the price of a Tool Truck.  We have heard of trucks selling without a ToolTrucks.com listing for many $1,000s below market value because they didn't know - don't be that guy!!!!

Creating and Managing a Listing
I want to list my Truck for sale. How can I create a listing?

* Create a new account or login with your Facebook credentials.
* Click on Sell in the menu or in "My Account" click on "Add Listing"
* You are now on the Listing Details page, it will walk you through the process.

Write a title for your listing.  Something like "Low miles One Owner", "Diesel Generator with Dual AC", or "Priced Right Ready to Sell!".

Select the Year, Make, Model etc of your truck

Check the boxes for the Features of your vehicle.  The more boxes you check, the more features are displayed in your listing.

Write a good Seller description.  Tell the viewers what you would say when someone calls about your truck.  If writing isn't your thing, just give us the facts, like "oil change every 250 hours" or "new tires in November of last year". We will help with the write-up.

Upload your photos in the order you want to see them.  Please start with an Exterior photo.  You won't be able to see the photo until you save your work.  If you think you made a mistake, save your work, and then come back and you will be able to see the photos and make changes.  .We always look at your photos, we might move them around a little to help the flow of the listing.

You can save your listing as a draft and come back as much as you want to make changes.  Always save your work at the bottom when you edit.

When you are ready to run your Listing, click on Submit Listing or Run.  After we receive your payment, we will review and activate your listing.  It isn't instant so you won't see it until it is reviewed.  That's just 1 business day at most, usually a few hours.

Have any selling Tips?

Of course!  Here are the basics and you are free to call in for more:

1.  Write a complete description.  We will help with some editing if you provide the facts.  We know options on your truck by looking at the photos, but we don't know if it has new tires or that you changed the oil every 500 hours.  That is the kind of info we need.
2.  Have at least 10 good photos initially, the 20 photo maximum is better, and the interior is more important than the exterior.  Add more photos if you can, you can't have too many.  Remember you are asking people to possibly come a long way to see your vehicle.  ALWAYS have photos front to back and back to front inside.  And don't get too close.
3.  Be available - respond to texts and calls and emails promptly.  When you sell it, unless you mark it sold, people will keep asking, so please let us know by logging in and making the change,
4.   If you want a lot of activity set your price as MAKE OFFER.  You are under no obligation to accept any offer.  This method has sold a lot of trucks because it allows you to speak with an actual prospect.
5.   Use the SALE PENDING option when you have a buyer but your sale isn't complete yet.  It leaves your info in the ad and still allows people to contact you, just in case.
6.  Get a deposit when you have a commitment to buy.  If you don't/can't get one your prospect can walk away at any time.
How do I get photos in my Listing?

Create your listing first.  Upload photos when you are either creating your listing or coming back to edit  Just scroll down the page below the features and you will see numbered boxes. Click on Browse next to a box and your files will open up.  Find your photo(s), click on it (usually twice fast), and it will upload.  It will say FILE UPLOADED, but you won't see your photo yet.  Saving your changes at the bottom and going to back to your photos will allow you to see them.

If the photos are on your phone?  Just log in from your phone.  If everything is too small, you can email the photos to yourself, save them on your computer, then start uploading.  ** This is all easier to do than it sounds **

You can change or add/delete photos any time, just upload over the one you don't want with the one you do.

What is a good order for the photos?

Please always start with an exterior photo.  The "money" shot is the curbside, either directly on the side or a 3 quarter front view.  We usually group the exterior photos first, then start with the interior photos.

You have room for 20 photos.

Have some tips for photos?

As a general rule people are more interested in the interior and how it is laid out than the exterior.  So place your emphasis on the interior, that is what you want the most photos of.

Exterior:  stand far enough back so we can see the whole vehicle in the shot.  Get all four sides, plus one with the liftgate or the ramp down.  Maybe take one of the tires.  Any body damage, please take a photo.

Interior: Down the aisle in both directions is a must.  Allow people to imagine standing in your truck.  Show the ceiling bungy, the desk area in front and behind, and any special features like waist high drawers, air tool display case etc.  If you have a walk thru, or a security door or panel, take a photo of it open and closed up.

Just try to show prospects what YOU would like to see if you were looking for a truck.

Can I add or change photos later? YES

Yes.  Log in, find your listing on the My Account page, go to edit or click on the little pencil.

Can you / will you help my photos look better? YES
Of course!  If we see a dark photo or one that needs to be cropped, we will do it automatically.  If you have a request, like make a photo lighter or white out your name on the side, call or email.
How can I change the display order of my Photos?
If you have the photos in an easy to see format on your computer and you are comfortable working with them, you can look at them and decide what order you want them in.  You can re-name your photos to the order you want by right clicking on them with your mouse and going to "rename".  Then you can, for example, change #6 to #1, get them in the order you want, log into your listing, and start adding photos.  Anything you upload will overwrite the one in there.

Click SAVE CHANGES, then view your listing on the website and check them out.

What Categories Should I Put My listing In?

Prospects can search by Category, so listing in the correct categories helps prospects find your listing.  The categories are Body Style (Cab-chassis, Step Van, etc), Company Name (your Tool Company is one of the options), and the Industry (e.g., mobile tool sales),

Do I Have to Register to Create a Listing?

Yes, you must be a registered user to create a listing on ToolTrucks.com. Registration is free. Or log in using your Facebook credentials, much quicker.  I don't know how it works, but it does!

Can I skip creating an account and log in with my Facebook ID?
Yes you can.  We might ask for a few more details if it isn't in your Facebook profile.
Do I Have to Register to view vehicles for sale on ToolTrucks.com?
Absolutely not, have fun looking.  However, if you want to save your search for next time, please register for an account, log in, and Search away.
I created a listing and paid for it, but I don't see it on ToolTrucks.com yet. Why?

A listing will never be visible immediately.  First, make sure you did click on Run.  You may have saved it as a Draft.  If you did, it will be in there waiting for you.

To do this, go to My Account and click on Run to the left of the listing you wish to run. The system will direct you to our Parts Store for payment.

Also, make sure you have included at least one photo.  It is better to have all your photos, but a minimum of one will make your ad visible.

Your listing will run as soon as your payment is processed and we review your ad content and activate your listing.  We review constantly so it won't be long.  We may edit your description for grammar and to make paragraphs, etc, but we don't change the content.
How do I Mark my Listing Sold, Sale Pending, or stop my listing from being seen?

There are 2 ways.  Find your listing and click on edit, and scroll down.  Mark it Sold at the Top, or down at the bottom you can select Sale Pending.

When you select Sale Pending, a note appears in your listing to "contact the advertiser for more information". Your listing is still visible.

When you select Sold, please provide the Date of the Sale and the Sale amount.  Your listing will move from the Active area to the Sold Page and your contact info is removed.

Want your listing to take a break?  Life happens, we can make it invisible for awhile and bring it back later.  If you want to suspend your listing contact us.

How Long Does a Listing Run?

Privacy
What is your privacy policy?

We're not talking!  But seriously, see Privacy Policy for details.

I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
Your email is never visible.  Someone interested in your listing will be able to contact you via email using the "Contact Advertiser" link on the site. The email address you enter for a listing is NOT shown on the site - it is used by the site to route anonymous contact requests to your email without making your email address known.

To hide your other personal information when creating a listing, just do the following:
1. Answer "NO" to the question "Include Profile with Listing". It is at the very bottom of the page where you enter your vehicle info.
2. Do not enter your street address or phone number in the listing, leave those boxes blank.  If you have done so already, just go back and edit your listing and remove it.  Be sure to click Save or Update your Listing when finished.

This will keep all of your personal information private. If you want your name and phone number off your truck in the photo, call or email us, we can erase it.

If I set my information to private how can a buyer contact me?

Prospects can email you by clicking on CONTACT SELLER at the bottom of your listing.  They will see your email if/when you respond.
